2023-2024 Licensing Classes - First Time Training

STEPS TO REGISTER FOR A BASIC INSTALLER OR PUMPER LICENSING CLASS:

1.) Fill out the AOWB's Eligibility Application and submit to the AOWB.

2.) Wait for your approval by the AOWB. (You will be notified by letter)

3.) When approved, contact Randee Fromby with AOWA at 334/396-3434 to register you for the next available class or class date of your choice.

4.) All Basic Installer courses are Monday-Thursday. Testing for your license will be on Friday at the AOWB office in Montgomery. There will be an additional fee for testing that is payable to AOWB.

5.) All Pumper/Portable Restroom courses are Wednesday - Thursday. Testing for your license will be on Friday at the AOWB office in Montgomery. There will be an additional fee for testing that is payable to AOWB.

2023 - 2024 Licensing Class Schedule:

Basic Installer:

  •  January 9 - 11, 2024  Test Date: January 12, 2024
  •  May 14 - 16, 2024   Test Date:  May 17, 2024
  •  September 24 - 26, 2024 Test Date: September 27,2024

Pumper/Portable Restroom:

  • February 7-8, 2024 Test Date: February 9, 2024
  • June 19 - 20, 2024   Test Date: June 21, 2024
  • October 2-3, 2024  Test Date:  October 4, 2024

Please note:

  • ALL Licensing classes will be held in Montgomery, AL.
  • There will be no refunds and no transfers.
  • AOWA reserves the right to cancel any of the Basic or Pumper licensing classes due to lack of registrations. For these classes to be held, we must have a minimum of 15 registrations at least 14 days prior to the first day of the class. Should the class be canceled due to lack of registrations, you will be provided a refund or a credit to take the course at a later date.  
  • If paying with a credit card there will be a 4% convenience fee added.
  • Payments must be received in the AOWA office before the start of the class.
  • AOWB charges a separate fee for the test.


Advanced I and II Licensing Classes

Before registering for an Advanced Installer I or II please make sure you have completed all requirements for applying for that license. License requirements are as follows: 

ADVANCED INSTALLER I:

  • Must hold a Basic Installer license for a minimum of 2 years
  • Must have installed a minimum of 5 Engineer Designed Septic Systems
ADVANCED INSTALLER II:
  • Must hold an advanced Installer I license for a minimum of 2 years
  • Must have installed a minimum of 5 Engineer Designed Septic Systems

To register for an Advanced I or II Licensing class please print the registration form and mail in with payment or complete the form online by visiting our events page.

Advanced I and II Licensing Class Schedule:  

ADVANCED INSTALLER I:

  • March 5-7, 2024  Test Date: March 8, 2024 
  • July 9-11, 2024  Test Date: July 12, 2024
  • October 29-31, 2024  Test Date: November 1, 2024 

ADVANCED INSTALLER II:

  • April 29 - May 2, 2024  Test Date: May 3, 2024 
  • December 9 -12, 2024  Test Date: December 13, 2024 

Please Note:

Registrations and payments must be received in the AOWA office 2 weeks prior to the class date. Cancellations must be received 5 business days before a scheduled class. You may cancel by phone 334-396-3434 or by email: cbaker@asginfo.net. If you cancel at least 5 business days in advance, AOWA will transfer your registration to a class at a future date. You must contact the AOWA office to make this change - you are not automatically registered for a future class. No refunds will be issued for cancellations.
